Applications for Edition No. 5 in Grenoble can be submitted from 1 December 2026. Come back then to apply for a spot.

Before you apply

We take a maximum of 150 riders to keep the atmosphere relaxed. If we don't reach 150 participants, registration stays open longer. If more than 150 apply, riders from minority groups get priority and all other places are drawn by lottery. The organisation may also appoint riders directly. There is a waiting list (last year 8 riders got a place from it).

Taking part costs €180: a €130 entry fee plus a €50 donation to the charities chosen by the first finishers. Payment is due between 15 and 28 January 2027, and your place on the start list is final once we confirm it. If you don't pay on time and haven't agreed otherwise with us, your place goes to another rider.

Riding as a pair? Choose “As a pair” in the form and fill in the details of both riders. Please read the rules before signing up; more may follow depending on local laws. Rookies are welcome, but expect serious climbing and changeable weather: see our past races and the DotWatcher archive.

More about your data (GDPR)
  • Who is responsible: The Unknown Race, theunknownbikerace@gmail.com
  • What we collect: your name, gender, email address, phone number, date of birth and country, plus your Instagram and Strava link if you add them. If you register as a pair, the same details for your partner; please make sure they agree to you sharing them.
  • Why: to handle your application and the race registration (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
  • How long: until the end of the edition you applied for. If you do not get a spot, we delete your data after the selection is complete.
  • Your rights: you can ask us at any time to see, correct or delete your data, to restrict or object to its use, or to receive a copy of it. You can also complain to a data protection authority.
